Kolhapur: The Shivaji University, Kolhapur (SUK) has welcomed the new guidelines issued by University Grants Commission (UGC) allowing external or undergraduate supervisors for PhD guidance. SUK was pursuing the demand with UGC since the last academic year when only post graduate college teachers were permitted to supervise PhD scholars.
